AutoApply Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and AutoApply ("AutoApply", "we", "me" — AutoApply is built and operated by Paul Colombo). They cover the AutoApply desktop application, the AutoApply website, and the account and AI services behind them (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, buying a pass, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

Plain-English summaries appear in italics at the top of some sections. The full text is what's binding.

1. What AutoApply is

It finds job openings, drafts applications for you to review, and never submits anything on its own. You make every final call.

AutoApply is a desktop tool that discovers job listings, drafts application form answers and documents using AI, and helps you track your applications. The Service is designed so that you review and submit every application yourself. AutoApply is a drafting and organizing tool, not an agent acting on your behalf.

AutoApply is not a recruiter, employment agency, or career counselor. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any employer, job board, or applicant tracking system that the app interacts with.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. You are responsible for your account credentials and for everything done under your account. One account per person; accounts are for your own personal job search only. Keep your account information accurate.

3. Passes, payments, and refunds

Passes are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. Unused passes are refundable; once you've used AI features, they're not.

Paid access is sold as one-time, non-renewing passes with a fixed duration (currently 30 days) and a usage allowance. Nothing renews automatically and we never charge you without you clicking buy. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.

The usage allowance on a pass reflects the AI processing your pass covers. Actual usage varies with what you do (longer resumes, more complex forms, and heavier features use more of your allowance). Any application counts shown for a tier are good-faith estimates, not guarantees of a specific number of applications.

Refunds: if you bought a pass and haven't used any of its allowance, email us within 7 days and we'll refund it. Once allowance has been consumed, the pass is non-refundable, because the underlying AI processing has already been paid for on our side. Filing a payment dispute or chargeback on a used pass may result in immediate suspension of your account.

We may change pricing or tier allowances for future purchases at any time. Changes never reduce what an already-purchased pass includes.

4. Your content and your responsibility for applications

The resume is yours, the answers are yours, and every application you send is yours. Review AI drafts before you submit them — they can be wrong.

You own the content you put into AutoApply — your resume, profile, and answers. You give us permission to process that content solely to operate the Service (for example, sending relevant text to AI model providers to draft your applications).

You are solely responsible for every application you submit, including its accuracy and truthfulness. AI-generated drafts can contain errors, omissions, or claims that don't apply to you. You must review every draft before submitting it. Submitting an application constitutes your representation to the employer — not ours. Do not use AutoApply to misrepresent your qualifications, identity, work authorization, or anything else.

You are also responsible for complying with the terms of the job boards, employer sites, and applicant tracking systems you apply through. If a site prohibits automated form-filling, it is your decision and your responsibility to use AutoApply there.

5. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Attack the Service. No probing, scanning, penetration testing, denial-of-service, credential stuffing, or any attempt to breach, disrupt, or degrade the Service or its infrastructure. No accessing accounts or data that aren't yours.
• Abuse the usage and cost model. No circumventing, tampering with, or attempting to evade usage metering, quotas, rate limits, or tier allowances; no modifying the app to bypass the Service's metering proxy; no exploiting bugs to obtain AI processing you didn't pay for. If you find a way to do any of this, report it to us instead of using it.
• Steal or redistribute the software. See Section 6.
• Resell or share access. No sharing accounts, reselling passes or AI allowance, or offering AutoApply's functionality to third parties as your own service.
• Create fraudulent accounts. No creating multiple accounts to obtain extra trials, invites, or allowances, and no using another person's identity.
• Poison shared data. Some features aggregate anonymized signals across users (for example, flagging dead job links). Deliberately submitting false reports to corrupt these signals is prohibited.
• Use the Service unlawfully. No spam, no harassment, no applications on behalf of another person without their authorization, and no use that violates any applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, without refund for consumed usage.

6. License and intellectual property

You're buying access to use the app, not the app itself. Don't copy it, crack it, or build on top of its code.

AutoApply's software, including the desktop application, backend services, design, and content, is proprietary and protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you control, for your own job search, while these Terms are in effect.

You may NOT:

• copy, redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense, or host the software for others;
• reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or extract source code from the software, except where the law expressly permits it despite this restriction;
• modify the software or create derivative works from it;
• remove or alter proprietary notices;
• use the software, its outputs, or its internal APIs to build a competing product.

All rights not expressly granted are reserved. Feedback you send us can be used to improve the Service without obligation to you.

7. AI features — no guarantees

The AI is genuinely useful and genuinely imperfect. It drafts; you decide.

AI features are provided through third-party model providers (currently Anthropic and Google). AI output is probabilistic: it can be wrong, incomplete, or oddly phrased. We do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or suitability of any AI output, and we do not guarantee interviews, responses, or employment. Job search outcomes depend on you and the market, not on us.

8. Availability and changes

The Service is under active development. Features may change, be added, or be removed. We may suspend the Service for maintenance or update it at any time. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Because the app depends on third-party sites and AI providers, some breakage will always be outside our control.

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, your license to the software ends. Sections 4-7 and 10-12 survive termination. Your local data stays on your machine and remains yours.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (a) WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST OPPORTUNITIES, LOST EMPLOYMENT, LOST PROFITS, OR LOST DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE; AND (b) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THESE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

You are responsible for the applications you submit and the sites you use AutoApply with. To the extent any claim arises from your applications, your content, or your violation of these Terms or of a third-party site's terms, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from that claim, including reasonable legal fees.

12. General

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. These Terms plus the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about the Service. We may update these Terms; if we make material changes, we'll post the new version with a new effective date, and continued use after that means you accept them.
